Mechanic Helper

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable mechanic helper to assist in the maintenance and repair of our
equipment fleet. This role involves supporting mechanics and performing general tasks. The ideal candidate
should be a hands-on problem solver with a strong willingness to learn and support the maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Repairs: Support mechanics in performing routine maintenance and repairs on waste
  collection vehicles and equipment.
  Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and conducting preventive maintenance tasks.

• Vehicle and Equipment Inspection: Help conduct inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify and
  address potential issues before they become critical.
  Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and report any defects or needs for repair.

• Cleaning and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning tools and
  equipment.

• Inventory Management: Help with inventory counts, stock organization, and restocking supplies as
  needed.
  Help with ordering and receiving parts and maintaining organized storage of inventory.

• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to company policies and regulatory guidelines related to safety and
  environmental practices.

• Team Support: When instructed, perform general helper responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation.

• Willingness to work flexible hours.

• Ability to read and follow instructions and communicate in a clear and prompt manner.

• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely.

• Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and manual labor.

• Ability to problem solve independently to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.

Education and Experience:

• Experience in mechanical maintenance or a similar role is required.

• Proficiency with heavy equipment repairs, technical or vocational training, and relevant certification are a plus
